XTH has become an epic fail
For players that are like me and have done all there is to do in Guild Wars, the XTH provides a reason to keep up with the game and the current PvP meta. For most players, it provides a valuable source of well needed monthly virtual "income". The XTH sort of bridges the gap between PvE and PvP in a respect that PvE players will pay more attention to PvP for the sake of having accurate predictions at the end of the month.
Now that the XTH has been down, I still check every Thursday night, hoping that Kun Shao will come back from vacation. Anet has been leading me on like an overly flirty high school girl leads on guys, and then eventually kicks them to the side of the road. Well Anet, I feel like I have been kicked to the side for the last time. The XTH is well overdue for the patient community and I am here to say that I am beginning to have a bad taste in my mouth. Is this what GW2 is going to be like? Is there going to be a problem that is too hard for you to solve, so you are going to push it off for months on end? Or even quit on the problem and bag the whole operation?
It is totally beyond my comprehension as to why Anet would completely demoralize an entire gaming community like this. Companies fail because of small little things like this.
Fix it please.
Thank you
*Note I do not need the Zkeys, I am plenty rich already thank-you. I just think ArenaNet has not kept us up to date on the XTH and really dropped the ball bigtime.*

A little over-dramatic, but I agree with you. It would really be nice to see it come back.

From my experience, PvEers never paid attention to PvP to get better XTH rewards. They went and asked other PvPers who actually care about PvP about what to pick. PvEers probably couldn't care less, as long as they get their money.
"become" an epic fail? XTH was always a bad idea.

Well in my experience I found myself more involved in PvP. I actually found myself competing in the 1v1 portion of the monthly and I was more frequently on GvG observe mode because the XTH sparked my interest. XTH has not always been a bad idea in that respect.

Wonder why CR won't even address it any more, their last response 6 weeks ago or so made it seem like it was pretty close, pending some last testing. I'm guessing it failed, though I don't understand why a simple note on where things stood is so hard.
Regina simply refuses to address it.

I think they have really screwed up big time with the current(broken) XTH. I only see 1 of 2 things happening: 1. They close the project 2. They Re-role back to the old XTH. If they keep building on top of a faulty system they're only going to get more problems!

I have had problems with the XTH even with the old version. I would make identical predictions and get different point values. It was almost as if it would either give me 130 points automatically or it would give me 80-90 after logging in and out a few times.

Update from ANet: Kun Shao was captured by the Shadow Army and later died in his prision cell making it impossible hand out the (May?) prediction RPs. Also note that the XTH self-destructed w/ the loss of Kun Shao.
I expect to see something like that in the next couple months from anet....

I can tell you what will most likely happen. They'll redistribute the May RPs that weren't rewarded, but they'll close XTH down forever...and so what? It was free income with little to no time investment. You can't cry about getting free cake for a long time and then having it taken away. If that happens, you go and start making your own cake like you should.

The only reason I started paying attention and getting more involved in PVP was when I discovered XTH. Which unfortuanately was a few months after I had began playing. And in a cruel twist of incredible irony, the first month I made my predictions was May......thats right the month it crashed -_-.....why me? Lol

Really though the EL tonics have pretty much been around the block, so the Z-chest for most people is kind of a big rip off. Bring XTH back, let the prices of zkeys drop, let people max their z-ranks without spending rediculous amounts of gold. Lets make the customers happy and keep them going till GW2 please and thanks.

really, you think? She's had ample opportunity to give updates upon her own volition, the various user-generated threads here, and the one she recently started about pvp to address it.
It's stubborn, and from my (and others here) perspective, frustrating. This really is incompetence compounded by poor CR.

People who did the XTH predictions make more than the players who don't make single eliminations.
That isn't balanced at all.
A XTH isn't a terrible idea, but it should require a monatary investment (gambling/betting?) and it shouldn't be able to wreck PvPers only form of making money. (zkeys)

The way it was set up when it was still in operation is what's called an epic fail. Why the hell couldn't we just keep the prediction done in game at an NPC rather than have a seperate account linked to the gw account? By now..i've completely forgotten the name and password to said account.

So you missed the big website revamp when they did away with that and just had you use game login info?

The XHT is crap. The welfare system of GW. It rewards tards who buy multiple accounts which the regular gamer with one account cant complete with, there for it needs to go away forever.

After a couple of months of ANet ignoring XTH, i quit playing GW.. Like many, I bought extra accounts and was actually spending a few days a month observing PvP matches and seeing the meta changes and getting to know the ppl and styles of play in high rated GvG. Making predictions and watching the monthly matches. I loved it when I got a couple correct. IT was fun.
Well after they kinda sold me the accounts they kinda ditched the XTH and just kinda screwed me. So i started playing other games. Well i have spent a couple hundred dollars since i quit a few months ago on other games.. money that ANet will not get. I also was a 20-30 hour a week GW junkie now i dont think i will even buy GW2 or AIon for that matter.
I dont know if others feel the same way but ANet had me from pre sear and somehow just screwed it up with the misqueues and i feel they have alienated me.
